Athens
The capital of Greece is a vibrant cosmopolitan European city that offers plenty in terms of activities, sightseeing, culture and nightlife. Athens is the host of the Olympic Games 2004 and is currently having a major facelift from a new road network to hotel refurbishment.
The city is easily accessible from London and other UK destinations as it is only a three and half hour flight away and receives six flights daily from Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton and Manchester. The new Athens International Airport which opened in March 2001 has been voted amongst the top three airports in the world handling up to 15 million passengers a year.
