Elounda Mare Hotel

The 5* elounda mare hotel lies on Mirabello Bay on the north coast of the island of Crete. It is the only member of the RELAIS & CHATEAUXâ international chain in Greece.
The hotel has been developed on 30,000 m2 of gently sloping land with a private coastline of 300 m. The drive from Iraklion International Airport is one hour (70 km). The town of Aghios Nikolaos lies at a distance of 7 km and the small village of Elounda is only 2 km away.

The hotel has been developed on 30,000 m2 of gently sloping land with a private coastline of 300 m. The drive from Iraklion International Airport is one hour (70 km). The town of Aghios Nikolaos lies at a distance of 7 km and the small village of Elounda is only 2 km away.
Guests are accommodated in 80 units. 37 rooms and suites compose the main hotel and there are 43 bungalows and bungalow suites.
All rooms in the main building face the sea and have a balcony or terrace. The bungalows, which also face the sea, have individual air-conditioning units and include a seawater swimming pool that is either private or shared with the neighbouring bungalow. Most of the swimming pools are heated during spring and autumn.
Rooms are divided into three main categories:
a. “ROOM”: One bedroom with en-suite luxurious bathroom and balcony or terrace enjoying a wonderful view of the sea.
b. “ SUITE”: Separate bedroom and sitting room, with balcony offering similar unparalleled view of the Bay.
c. “SUPERIOR SUITE”: Separate sitting room and large balcony with breathtaking panoramic view of the Aegean Sea and the Mirabello Bay.
Bungalows are divided into three main categories:
A. BUNGALOWS SHARED POOL SEA VIEW
· "STANDARD": Regular size and furnishing, has its own terrace and shares a swimming pool with one or two adjacent bungalows.
· “SUITE”: Much larger than the Standard, with separate sitting room and own patio with swimming pool – shared with one adjacent Standard bungalow.
B. BUNGALOWS PRIVATE POOL SEA VIEW
· "STUDIO" Larger than the standard bungalow, provides extra sitting space, as well as a private garden with sun terrace and swimming pool.
· "SUITE" Separate bedroom and sitting room, private garden with sun terrace and swimming pool.
· "Two- or three- bedroom SUITES: With private garden and swimming pool. Each of these suites has been individually designed and decorated with antiques.
C. PRESIDENTIAL SUITES PRIVATE HEATED POOL SEA VIEW
· Luxurious suites with one or two bedrooms, spacious living room, open fire-place, private garden with sun terrace. They are located on front row near the sea, offering unobstructed view of an endless breadth of the Aegean Blue and the ever-changing pale colours of the distant Sitia Mountains. All have a private heated seawater swimming pool. The pool is much larger in Princess Ariadni Suite and King Minos Suite, the latter offering a private health club with sauna, Turkish bath and fitness equipment.
All rooms and bungalows have marble bathrooms. All rooms, main-building suites and most bungalows have air-bath tubs, as well as a separate shower enclosure, air-conditioning, direct dial telephone, colour satellite television, in-house music, mini bar refrigerator, safe and hair-dryer. All bungalows are equipped with a sunshade and deck chairs. Scales, bathrobes and slippers are also provided. In the bungalows with private pool, guests enjoy a special VIP service.
In the main building, the lounges are furnished and decorated with antiques.
There is a T.V. Room and a Card Room.
A large heated seawater swimming pool with a paddling pool for children are situated in front of the main hotel. There are extended lawns and terraces along the shore where sunshades and deck chairs are provided free of charge for private sunbathing. By the sandy beach, well-organised Sea Sports include water-skiing, parasailing and SCUBA diving tuition. There are also canoes, pedaloes, windsurfs and sailing boat for charter. The service is multilingual and discrete.
Sports also include two tennis courts (artificial grass) and table tennis.
At the sister hotel Porto Elounda DE LUXE RESORT, only 500 m. away, there is an Executive nine-hole Golf Course with Golf Academy and Pro shop.
The "Karavia Bar" in the main hotel, with magnificent views over the Mirabello Bay and Sitia Mountains, is enlivened with soft piano music in the early evening.
There are three different restaurants:
The "Deck Restaurant" where buffet breakfast and a five-course Table d' Hôte dinner is served (salad and dessert buffet as well as a choice in the first and main course).
For à la carte meals, the "Yacht Club Restaurant" is open daily for lunch as well as certain evenings in the week, alternately with the "Old Mill Restaurant" where guests can enjoy also flambé dishes. Elegant attire is expected in all restaurants and gentlemen are required to wear a jacket when dining at the “Old Mill”. A special theme event “the Fisherman’s Eve" takes place at the "Yacht Club". At the “Old Mill Restaurant”, under the shade of carob and olive trees, one can enjoy a snack during the day and tea in the afternoon. Room Service runs round the clock.
By the beach, at Santa Marina's Square, one finds the Chapel, Art Gallery, Souvenir Shop, Boutiques and close to the Old Mill Restaurant a Jewellery Shop and News-stand. The Hotel facilities also include a Hairdresser, Sauna, Steam Bath room as well as Massage and Beauty Treatment.
A Conference Room, seating 150 persons, together with two smaller meeting rooms, is also available.
