Why Greece

Ten Reasons To Consider:

1

Our People, Culture and Hospitality!

Throughout the centuries, Greece has always been renowned for its three basic characteristics; its people, culture and hospitality. Our strength lies in our people, who are friendly and hospitable, as well as speaking English and other European languages and always provide a warm welcome.

2

Close to home!

Greece is easily accessible from London and other UK destinations. There are six daily scheduled flights to choose from and a flight time of only three and half-hours, with only a two-hour time difference! 26 International airports and over 20 international ports make Greece the ideal destination for a floating conference or for running a yachting/sailing incentive or just a cruise.

3

Breathtaking Contrasts & Physical Environment!

Cosmopolitan cities sit side by side with the exciting outdoors offering visitors the chance to combine a wide range of both spectator and participation activities with urban cultural pursuits. With its 17,000 km coastline and two archipelagos scattered with numerous islands, Greece is a country that presents its guests with a variety of activities to be enjoyed all year round.

4

The Weather!

One of the most important advantages of Greece is its mild weather. All four seasons and the activities completing them can be enjoyed; from a warm summer and water sports to a crisp winter and skiing in the countrys five ski resorts.

5

Safety!

A full EU member since 1981, Greece is considered one of the safest European countries in the whole world. Demographic changes indicate that delegates are getting older and more of them are women. In addition, delegates are keener to bring along their families. The family market for business travel and events is expected to grow as executives try to balance long working hours with family time. Greece can provide safety for delegates and the opportunity to bring their family along as most hotels have made special provisions.

6

Investment in purpose-built conference facilities.

Over the past few years, Greece has invested heavily in purpose-built conference facilities to complement the existing ones. The Athens Metropolitan Conference and Exhibition Centre will occupy the areas of the old Athens International Airport and will be operational by the end of 2005 with an approximate cost of 146 million euros. Plans are under way for the development of six new conference centres in Patra (Western Peloponnese), Volos (Central Greece), Larissa (Central Greece), Ioannina (Epirus), Chania (Crete) and Argos (Eastern Peloponnese).

7

Competitive Delegate Rates.

Greece is a country with a long established leisure travel industry. In the last few years, there has been a strong investment in developing a well-managed business travel industry. The ideal time to host an event in the country is during the shoulder or low season between October and May when most hotels offer competitive delegate rates coupled with mild weather conditions make Greece the obvious choice.

8

World-class facilities and services.

Greeces existing venues, facilities and amenities are all you would expect from a full-service business class destination. Including the Athens Concert Hall, Athinais, Marika Capsis Convention Centre in Rhodes and Helexpo in Thessaloniki.

9

Professional and inventive DMCs.

On the ground support is provided by a number of professional and innovative DMCs blending imagination with attention to detail and inspiration through the countrys rich heritage. Our DMC's will take you way beyond what you thought could be possible when it comes to pre or post activity programmes and general itineraries.

10

Multiple centre business or conventions or "consentives"!

Due to its diverse landscape combined with the transport infrastructure, Greece is a country that is ideal for multiple option trips. For example, it is possible to host a convention in a city and an incentive in an island due to the transport links between the mainland and the islands or other resorts.
